Over 100 000 Covid-19 cases in SA

CAPE TOWN- Coronavirus cases in South Africa have breached 100 000 cases, while 61 more deaths have been recorded bringing the total to 1 991.

Health minister Zweli Mkhize said the cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases now stands at 101 590, an increase of 4 288.

Of the latest fatalities, 39 are from the Western Cape, 18 from the Eastern Cape, 3 from KwaZulu-Natal, and 1 from Limpopo.

The total number of recoveries is 53 444, which translates to a recovery rate of 52.6%.
