DURBAN - There's been a lot of talk about the use of face masks since the Coronavirus outbreak was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).

President Cyril Ramaphosa has also reinforced the mandatory wearing of masks in public or in public places and failure those who fail to comply will face a fine or imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment.

WHO recommends medical masks for healthcare workers, elderly people, people with underlying health conditions, and people who have tested positive for the coronavirus or show symptoms. According to the health body, healthy people who don't fall into these categories should wear a fabric mask.
