SA Covid-19 cases increase to 35 812

CAPE TOWN- Health minister Zweli Mkhize announced during a live briefing on Tuesday that the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in South Africa now stands at 35 812, an increase of 1 455.

Mkhize briefed the media following a site tour at the Sonstraal field hospital, Western Cape. The minister was assessing the readiness of intervention teams in the province hotspots.

The total number of deaths had not yet been calculated at the time of his briefing, however Mkhize said that 761 534 tests have been conducted to date and of which 18 792 tests in the past 24 hours.
