South Africa reaches 200 000 benchmark Covid-19 infections

CAPE TOWN- South Africa has recorded 111 more Covid-19 related deaths bringing the total to 3 310, while confirmed positive cases now stand at205 721, an increase of 8 971.

Of the latest fatalities, 50 are from Gauteng, 35 are from the Western Cape, 17 from Limpompo and 9 from the Eastern Cape.

Health minister Zweli Mkhize said that recoveries are at 97 848, which translates to a recovery rate of 47.6 percent.
