DURBAN - Save Hyper Supermarkets have developed a prototype sanitiser tunnel for their customers to use during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The sanitiser tunnel was designed by Ridwaan Hoosain who commenced work on the project after the Save Group showed him images that they had found online of the sanitiser tunnel.

The tunnel is simple to use, customers walk through the tunnel with their trolley and put their hands up as a mist of disinfectant sprays onto them.

“It took us two day to design, construct and install the sanitising tunnel. I have also shared the design with our Minister of Health Dr Zweli Mkhize and I am awaiting a response from him. I hope that the tunnel will be rolled out at all Save stores”, said Hoosain.
