CAPE TOWN - A popular wedding venue hosts a drive-in wedding with guests attending and viewing the ceremony from their cars.

As the pandemic continues, businesses have been forced to come up with innovative ways in order to keep providing their services under lockdown restrictions.

Some events such as virtual concerts, live-streamed exercise classes and drive-thru bottle stores have become increasingly common, however, there is a constant stream of fresh event ideas popping up as we move through easing restrictions and lockdown levels.

The wedding industry has been one of the hardest-hit within South Africa, with many cancellations and postponements forced by the pandemic, but Collisheen Estate in Durban has used the opportunity to get creative and host drive-in style weddings.

The wedding venue took to Facebook to share photographs of one of their most recent ‘Sunset Oval Drive-In Wedding’ ceremonies, showing their creative way of practising physical distancing with guests attending and viewing the wedding from their cars around a large circle with an aisle entrance leading to the centre which represents the alter.

The venue also provides canapes, cooked by the executive head chef and staff, being delivered to each of your guests to their cars.
