Johannesburg - The ANC said on Monday it was urgently finding ways to deal with violent strikes and protests in the country.

“The lekgotla directed the state to find ways... to deal with the twin phenomenon of violent strikes and violent community protests,” party secretary-general Gwede Mantashe told journalists in Johannesburg.

He was speaking following an ANC lekgotla and national executive committee meeting.

“Lawlessness and anarchy cannot be allowed to be the dominant feature of strikes and protests.” - Sapa
