Cape Town - A warrant was issued by a Cape Town court on Friday for the arrest of a man who allegedly made fraudulent use of the Church of Jesus Christ's bank card.

John Julies, 41, of Paarl East, failed to make his third appearance before magistrate Sabrina Sonnenberg in the Bellville Specialised Commercial Crime Court.

He was arrested in January, but released on R600 bail.

At the request of prosecutor Tracy Belelie, Julies' bail was declared forfeited to the State, and June 20 set as the return date for his arrest warrant.

He faces 13 fraud charges, involving the fraudulent use of the cloned fleet motor bank card, and one charge of violating the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.

According to the charge sheet, he allegedly used the card at different petrol stations and motor workshops between January 24 and 29.
