Komberley - The police are still searching for the killer of a one-year-old baby girl, who was found beheaded and naked outside a toilet in Britstown last week.

Jeynieline Davidene Boks, was found by a seven-year-old neighbour, about 80 metres from her house on Thursday morning.

The police said they are investigating a case of murder after the discovery but had by yesterday made no arrests.

A post-mortem is expected to be completed today to determine the exact cause of death.

The child’s death has sparked outrage nationally, with many calling it a muti-killing, while others are pointing fingers at the child’s mother for not reacting faster after she found that her child was missing.

While the mother indicated that she realised that the child was not sleeping next to her at around sunset on Wednesday, she did not report the child missing and only contacted the police after the body was found at about 7.45am on Thursday.

Police have appealed to members of the community to assist in the investigation. Anyone who might have any information relating to the incident is urged to contact the investigating officer, Detective Warrant Officer Christiaan Noeth on 082 448 3455.
