Durban - A security guard was stabbed at a construction site near the N2 and M19 in Durban on Tuesday, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

“Rescue Care paramedics Nicola Bloem and Priston Pillay arrived at the construction area to find a male who had been stabbed numerous times in a critical condition,” said spokesman Garrith Jamieson.

He said paramedics immediately called for advanced life support assistance due to the severity of the patient's injuries.

“The patient deteriorated and he went into cardiac arrest. Paramedics tried for over thirty minutes to resuscitate the man.

“However they were unable to revive him,” said Jamieson.

The guard was declared dead on the scene.
