Durban - A police constable accused of stealing meat and liquor from a trading store appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate's Court on Monday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

The case was postponed to January 21 for a bail application, Captain Thulani Zwane said.

The constable was arrested last Saturday at his home in Amandawe.

The shop was burgled last Friday night. The constable allegedly led police to a house in Umzinto where more stolen goods were found.
