Mafikeng - A father and son were shot dead in their Mafikeng home, in an attack that left the boy's mother wounded, North West police said Friday.
Clifford Assegaai, 45, and his wife Nicolette, 42, were in their home with their 19-year-old son Remein when they were attacked on Thursday, said Brigadier Thulani Ngubane.
A neighbour heard gunshots at the house and called the police.
“On their arrival, police saw Nicolette, who was shot in the left thigh. She was still alive. Police proceeded to the bedroom, where they found the father and the son lying dead,” Ngubane said.
The neighbour said she saw three people running from the scene of the shooting, two of them had firearms. Police found several empty shell casings in the house.
Nicolette Assegaai was taken to Bophelong Hospital. - Sapa
