Johannesburg - A doctor accused of sexually assaulting four boys appeared in the Humansdorp Magistrate's Court on Thursday, Eastern Cape police said.

The case was transferred to the Humansdorp Regional Court and postponed to February 20, Lt-Col Priscilla Naidu said.

The 54-year-old man was arrested on September 19 after two mothers opened cases of sexual assault in August. He had since appeared in court several times.

The sexual offences apparently took place in 2003 in the doctor's consulting room. Three of his alleged victims were siblings, aged between eight and 10 at the time. The fourth child was assaulted when he was nine-years-old. - Sapa
