Two men have been murdered in separate incidents in the Mthatha area, with one being set alight, Eastern Cape police said Wednesday.

A 34-year-old man was found stabbed to death on Tuesday in the Tsolo area, said Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela.

“He was found murdered and seemingly they tried to burn the body,” Fatyela said.

In a second incident on Tuesday night, a 29-year-old man was stabbed to death as he was walking from Mthatha with a male friend.

The two were set upon by two men who stabbed the victim. His friend managed to escape.

Fatyela said no arrests had been made.

Murder cases have been opened for both killings and police were investigating. - Sapa
