Ga-Molepo - Limpopo police were looking on Thursday for a man who allegedly raped an elderly woman in Ga-Molepo, in the Bethel area, Limpopo police said.

Constable Moses Molepo said the woman, 73, was asleep when the man entered her house through a window on Tuesday night.

Molepo said she was strangled before she was raped. She went to a local police where she reported the matter. She was then taken to Mankweng Hospital where the rape incident was confirmed.

He said the woman was alone in the house when the crime was committed.

Police have launched a manhunt for the man aged between 20 and 40. - Sapa
