Nigel - Three Pakistani men caught with suspected stolen goods were arrested in Nigel on the East Rand on Tuesday, said Gauteng police.

Goods worth about R2 million taken from a hijacked truck and kept at a storage facility were recovered after their arrest, said Col Lungelo Dlamini.

The suspects, aged between 30 and 33, arrived at the storage facility in a bakkie and loaded stock that was due to be sold to spaza shops, Dlamini said.

“During the investigation, the suspects failed to account where they had found the stock.”

Hundreds of boxes of washing soap powder, soya beans, soap, chairs and many other packaged foods were found at the storage facility, Dlamini said.

The men were expected to appear in the Nigel Magistrate's Court soon where they would face charges of the possession of suspected stolen property.
