Mdantsane - Four people were arrested for alleged possession of illegal firearms on a chicken farm near Mdantsane, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.
Three men and a woman aged between 20 and 29 were arrested on Tuesday, Lieutenant Nkosikho Mzuku said.
He said police had been monitoring the farm, suspecting illegal activities.
“Five rifles, a shotgun, pellet gun, 495 (rounds of) live ammunition, laptop bag, cellphones, knives, watches, and binoculars were confiscated,” Mzuku said.
The group was expected to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate's Court soon on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms, ammunition, and possible stolen goods.
