Seshego - Four people accused of running illegal colleges appeared in the Seshego Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.
Brigadier Hangwani Mualudzi said Hangwani Joseph Mukwevho, 57, and his wife Olebile Monica Mukwevho, 45, would be back in court on Friday for further arguments in the case.
They would appear with two associates, Kgaogelo Grace Mafokeng and Avhapfani Dalton Mululuma, both 31-years-old. All remained in custody, said Mulaudzi.
They were arrested on January 14 after investigations which began when students approached the department of higher education to enquire about the legitimacy of the colleges.
The Hawks closed down Seshego FET College in Zone 7, and its branch at 75 Church Street in Polokwane. A total of R69 250 was found at the campuses.
The other college, Kgapane FET College - registered as Bela Bela Technical College, and owned by Mukwevho - was also closed. Police urged all previous students of both the Seshego and Kgapane FET colleges to go to their nearest police station and furnish their particulars.
