Johannesburg - Four men are expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on Wednesday in connection with the rape and murder of a 14-year-old girl, Gauteng police said.
Captain Pinky Tsinyane said the body of the girl was found on Saturday in the veld next to Kagiso extension 13.
“Police were called by a community member who was walking in the same area where the body was found,” she said in a statement.
“It is alleged that the girl was killed on her way back home after she was visiting her friend. The girl was identified by family members from Tsepisong West.”
Tsinyane said the police followed up information and arrested two men in the Mnandi squatter camp and two men in Kagiso on Monday.
The men are aged between 20 and 22 and face charges of murder and rape.
