Home Affairs officials in court for theft

Sasolburg - Two home affairs officials accused of stealing money appeared in the Sasolburg Magistrate's Court, the Hawks said on Saturday.

“The two officials allegedly stole money paid for passport applications to the tune of R193 800 at the Sasolburg department of home Affairs, over a period of two years,” Captain Paul Ramaloko said

John Tshepo Khaile and Irris Mosa Sepheka appeared in court on Friday.

“Khaile was released on R500 bail, while Sepheka was released on R2 000 bail,” Ramaloko said.

The case against the two officials was postponed to March 31 for investigation.

Ramaloko said Khaile allegedly stole R3 800 and Sepheka R190 000.
