Pretoria - Police have launched a manhunt for a man who shot four people - killing two, one of them his one-year-old son.
Police Captain Riana van Aarde said the man shot his toddler son, the mother of the child and two of her family members in an apparent fit of rage on Friday evening in Soshanguve.
“It is believed he shot them because the mother had taken out a court order to protect herself from him.” Van Aarde said the boy and another family member had died of their injuries.
His mother and another family member were still in hospital. “The mother is in a critical condition and the other family member is stable and recovering.”
After the shooting the suspect fled and hasn’t been seen since, Van Aarde said.
