Johannesburg - Two men were arrested for the illegal possession of ivory with an estimated street value of R450 000 in Rustenburg on Sunday, North West police said.

Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the two men, aged 29 and 35, were arrested during a roadblock along the R510, between Rustenburg and Thabazimbi.

He said police stopped a car and when they searched it, they found the illegal elephant ivory hidden in a television box.

“The two suspects are expected to appear before the Rustenburg Magistrate's Court tomorrow (Monday),” he said. - Sapa
