Estcourt - Four KwaZulu-Natal men found guilty of murdering a Gauteng taxi boss were sentenced by the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Wednesday.
Judge Jerome Mnguni sentenced Mali Mazibuko, 36, Sibusiso Zuma, 36, Bulelani Zuma, 29, and Mxokozeli Dlamini, 49, for the murder committed near Estcourt in February 2012.
All of the men, except for Bulelani Zuma, were sentenced to 10 years' jail. The younger Zuma was sentenced to 15 years for the murder and five years for the attempted murder of the boss' brother Duncan Mazibuko. His sentences would run concurrently.
Mazibuko had pointed out the victim's home and Dlamini had driven the killers to and from the home.
Taxi boss Zimele Mazibuko was shot 13 times by two men who fired 45 shots with automatic rifles and two men who fired five pistol shots at him. His brother was wounded but survived.
During their last appearance, the four appeared with Thabani Ngcobo, 30, and Khuthuxolo Dlamini, 32, both of Gauteng, who pleaded not guilty to the murder and attempted murder.
Their trial was separated from that of those who pleaded guilty. The four are from the Estcourt district.
