Durban -

Three kittens and their mother were thrown out of a window on the ninth floor of a building in the Durban CBD, the KwaZulu-Natal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) said on Tuesday.

Spokesman Chris Matheson said an SPCA inspector was called to the scene of the incident in February and arrived to find one of the kittens already dead.

“[The] others were bleeding from the nose and mouth, indicating severe head injuries. One had a broken jaw and lacerated leg,” he said.

The kittens' mother was bleeding from the nose and mouth and had an eye injury and an open wound on its back leg.

Matheson said all the cats were euthanised to prevent further suffering.
