Johannesburg - Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema on Friday pleaded not guilty to speeding.

Appearing in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrate's Court, Malema, through his lawyer, questioned the accuracy of a speed camera used to record his alleged speed.

However, he admitted he was driving a BMW with North West registration plates on December 19 on the N1 freeway in the Vaal area.

Malema has been charged with reckless or negligent driving.

He was arrested in December for allegedly driving at 215km/h in a 120km/h zone.

Proceedings continue. - Sapa
