Man due in court for granddaughter’s rape

Eastern Cape -

A 40-year-old man is expected to appear in the Ngqamakhwe Magistrate's Court in the Eastern Cape on Monday for the alleged rape of his 10-year-old granddaughter, SABC radio news reported.

He was arrested at Bhoqo village after he allegedly called the victim under the pretext that he was sending her to his room to fetch something.

Police spokesman Jackson Manatha said it was not clear if other family members were around at the time. - Sapa
