A man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend and her friend to death in Skierlik, Bela-Bela, said Limpopo police.
Lt-Col Ronel Otto said the 27-year-old man was taken into custody in the morning at his mother's house.
He was expected to appear in the Bela-Bela Magistrate's Court on Friday.
The man allegedly stabbed to death his 26-year-old girlfriend Lehlagonolo Salome Mowatsi, and her 19-year-old friend Sarah Morukhulad during an argument on Tuesday.
“It is believed the couple had a fight at about 10pm when the woman's friend tried to intervene,” said Otto.
The man fled the scene after he had stabbed the women.
“Despite suffering from severe injuries, Mowatsi ran to the house of her neighbours, where she collapsed and died.”
Her friend died inside the couple's house, where the fight broke out. - Sapa
