Johannesburg - A motorist was arrested for speeding in Boksburg on Saturday, Ekurhuleni traffic officials said.

The driver of a blue BMW was arrested when he was caught driving 101km/h in a 60km/h zone on North Rand road, Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said on Sunday.

“He claimed he was relocating from Boksburg to Actonville and advanced the reason that he did not wish to be moving his precious possessions after dusk,” Kgasago said.

The man was charged with reckless or negligent driving and was expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Thirty-eight other speedsters were captured on camera and would get their fines in the post, he said. - Sapa
