George - A man accused of raping an elderly woman appeared in the George Magistrate's Court on Thursday, Western Cape police said.
The 23-year-old man would remain in custody until his bail application on July 14, for him to get a lawyer, Captain Malcolm Pojie said.
The man allegedly raped an 86-year-old woman in Rosemoor, George, in April.
“The result received from the forensic laboratory has linked his DNA with the samples found on the crime scene,” Pojie said.
He was arrested on Wednesday afternoon.
