A 52-year-old man appeared in the Oudtshoorn Magistrate's Court on Wednesday on several charges of sexual assault, Western Cape police said.

Two assault cases were opened between Tuesday and Wednesday, said Captain Bernadine Steyn.

“A 16-year-old teenager and two women, aged 19 and 20, charged that the man sexually assaulted them from June 2011.”

They alleged that they were working at a restaurant in Voortrekker Road when the assaults were committed.

“Another case was reported later by a 17-year-old teenager, who alleged that she was assaulted by the man on two occasions at separate homes between April 2007 and August 2008,” said Steyn.

The man was arrested at his house in Oudtshoorn on Tuesday.

The matter was postponed to Thursday. - Sapa
