Mankweng - Limpopo police were searching for a man who allegedly killed a businessman in Ga-Thoka, near Mankweng, a spokesman said on Monday.

Frans Kwetepe Thosago and another man allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes and groceries from a spaza shop in the area and then shot dead the shop's owner in May, Constable Matimba Maluleke said.

One man was arrested, but Thosago managed to escape.

Thosago was also wanted for allegedly raping students from the University of Limpopo in July.

“He allegedly targets girls who walk alone at night,” Maluleke said.

The man also allegedly breaks into the residences of students who rented rooms off campus and rapes them.

“People are urged not to approach the suspect as he is believed to be armed,” said Maluleke.

Anyone with information about Thosago's whereabouts was urged to contact the police.
