Murder accused Rohde in court for pre-trial hearing

Cape Town - Property mogul Jason Rohde appeared for his pre-trial conference at the Western Cape High Court on Friday where his trial was set for October.

Rohde, a former chief executive of Lew Geffen Sotheby's is accused of the murder of his wife Susan in their hotel room at Spier Wine Estate, outside Stellenbosch last year.

The pair had been attending a property conference at the estate where they were reportedly seen arguing the day before the woman's body was found in the bathroom.

Rohde also stands accused of defeating the ends of justice for allegedly making the death look like a suicide. 

He is out on R100 000 bail and R1m surety.

The trial is set to start on 9 October.
