Two people appeared in Rustenburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday for allegedly killing a policeman, North West police said.

The wife of the murdered policeman and her boyfriend were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder of 53-year-old Warrant Officer Patric Lesele, Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said.

“They were remanded back into police custody as the matter was postponed to June 13.”

He said both Lesele's wife and her boyfriend confessed to the murder on Wednesday.

Lesele was found dead by his wife at about 5am on Saturday, who claimed he left on Friday night to pay a debt, Ngubane said. - Sapa
