Carletonville, Gauteng - Two people were arrested in Carletonville, Gauteng, on Wednesday afternoon when police tracked a car stolen from a man they allegedly killed.

A 57-year-old man found the two, who were known to him, in his Rustenburg house when he came home on Wednesday morning, spokeswoman Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said.

The man and woman overpowered and strangled him. They fled in his Citi Golf. The man's family reported his car stolen after finding his body.

The car's tracker signal led police to Blyvooruitzicht, Carletonville, where the two, aged 19 and 31, were arrested. They were expected to appear in court soon to face charges of robbery and murder. - Sapa
