Johannesburg - Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with gang-related violence in Reiger Park.

Alleged gangsters Clayton Peacock and Merlin Boswell appeared in the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing three charges of murder and four of attempted murder.

One of the murders is that of Bonaventure Brian Maynard, who was killed outside his home in Reiger Park on Wednesday.

The two men were arrested on Friday after a provincial investigations unit followed up information that led them to Ennerdale.

A policeman said the modus operandi for some gangs was to kill people and switch cars to evade the police. But upon following leads and patrolling the Ennerdale area, police officers found the pair driving around in a white Honda.

The two men are expected back in court on Thursday for a bail hearing.

Before appearing in magistrate Emmanuel Magampa’s court, Boswell appeared alone in courtroom A on a separate charge relating to the murder of Marvin Jordaan, who was shot in the head while sitting in his car in Reiger Park on September 30 last year.

Two other men - Bernard Swartz and Clayton Morris - are also facing trial for Jordaan’s murder.

Their trial was expected to start on Tuesday in the Johannesburg High Court, and Boswell was set to join them.

Boswell, who is believed to be part of Reiger Park’s Terribles gang, was taken to the Germiston police cells.

Peacock was taken to Boksburg Prison after his attorney said he had complained about being beaten up at the Germiston police station cells.
