Kakamas, Northern Cape - A policeman accused of rape has appeared in the Kakamas Magistrate's Court, the Independent Police Investigative Directorate said on Wednesday.

Spokesman Moses Dlamini said he was granted bail of R500 on Tuesday. He would be back in court on August 15.

The cop was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman with who he had previously had a relationship. - Sapa
