Bloemfontein - A Limpopo man's life sentence for raping his 14-year-old daughter was confirmed by the Supreme Court of Appeal on Thursday.

“One can rightly ask what could be considered more heinous than the rape of a child by a father,” the judgment read.

The unanimous judgment, by a panel of three judges, found the high court correctly regarded the offence as serious and did not fault imposing life imprisonment.

The SCA pointed out the man was entirely without remorse, pleaded not guilty and had put his two children through the trauma of testifying in a trial.

“For his daughter, this meant reliving a nightmarish experience,” the judges said.
