Pretoria - State Security Minister Siyabonga Cwele's son was robbed at gunpoint in his Pretoria home, police said on Wednesday.

Luyanda Cwele had just arrived at his Sunnyside home on Tuesday when a man with a firearm accosted him.

“He was locked in a bathroom until (Wednesday) morning. The gardener arrived... and the police were contacted,” said deputy provincial commissioner for detective services, Maj-Gen Tebello Mosikili.

The man left with electronic equipment, car keys, a wallet and jewellery. No arrests had been made.
