Johannesburg - Convicted rapist Mpho Rakgwale appeared in the High Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court on Thursday, Gauteng police said.

“The case was postponed to 7 and 8 October for delivery of sentencing,” Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.

Rakgwale, 22, from Dobsonville, Soweto was convicted of 136 crimes, including rape, kidnapping, and robbery, committed between 2007 and 2013.

“He was arrested last year after a lengthy investigation linked him to cases of rape, robbery and kidnapping in the Dobsonville area.”

Rakgwale raped and robbed his victims at the Dobsonville cemetery and in the Dobsonville stadium.
