Johannesburg - Three women accused of assaulting a man in Soweto appeared in the Meadowlands Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, police said.

Aged 29, 54, and 58, they were released on a warning and would be back in court on January 22, Constable Sibusiso Chauke said.

They allegedly attacked the man on Saturday evening, Chauke said.

He was walking in Zone Three, Meadowlands, when he came across one of the women. She accused him of assaulting her child, which he denied. She allegedly started assaulting him and bystanders joined in.

“They used (their) hands and one also used a brick. The victim sustained some injuries,” Chauke said. - Sapa
