A man was sentenced to eight years in jail for raping a student at the University of Zululand, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Monday.
Muziwandile Moses Zungu, 26, was found guilty and sentenced by the Ngwelezane Regional Court on Friday, Captain Thulani Zwane said.
On February 28 last year, the 19-year-old woman was at her university residence when Zungu approached her.
“(Zungu) proposed love to her. She refused his proposal and the accused dragged her to the bedroom where she was raped,” said Zwane. - Sapa
