Johannesburg - Two alleged alibi witnesses would testify in the trial of the alleged “Sunday rapist” in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court in Alberton on Friday.

Judge Sita Kolbe ordered the witnesses not be named or identified in any way.

Johannes Jacobus Steyn, dubbed the 'Sunday rapist', has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder, 11 of rape, 10 of sexual assault, 10 of abduction, one of attempted sexual assault, and one of attempted abduction.

The first witness, a female who worked with Steyn at the Yusuf Dadoo Hospital in Krugersdorp during his community service, testified she never went to his home.

She was asked if she ever had sex with him at an abandoned holiday resort in Maropeng, where murdered teenager Louise de Waal's body was found, as Steyn had testified.

“Definitely not... Maybe in his dreams,” she answered.

When advocate Anton Lerm, for Steyn, asked if she simply denied the sexual relationship because she was ashamed she said she denied it.

On Tuesday, he admitted being addicted to pornography and child pornography.

“It's a danger. It becomes an addiction that consumes all your time and attention,” he told the court.

He said he watched a lot of pornography and child pornography. He likened the addiction to that of cigarettes and alcohol, and said it interfered with his work. - Sapa
