Bushbuckridge - Three people were arrested and guns stolen during an armed robbery were recovered in Bushbuckridge, the Hawks in Mpumalanga said on Thursday.

Seven loaded firearms were found hidden in a ceiling at their home in College View, Bushbuckridge, said spokesman Lieutenant Robert Netshiunda.

“Initial investigations have revealed that two of the recovered firearms were stolen from the security guards during a social grant pay point armed robbery that happened at a church in Ga-Moreku township near Acornhoek, Mpumalanga last week.”

“The Hawks are still hot on the heels of more than eight suspects who disarmed the security guards and made their getaway with an undisclosed amount of money in two vehicles.” said Netshiunda.

The three suspected robbers would appear in court soon.
