Cape Town - An Oaklands High School pupil accused of firing shots at two fellow pupils appeared in the Wynberg Juvenile Court, in Cape Town, on Tuesday.

He was released into the care of his father.

The pupil, who may not be named, faces two charges of attempted murder, and two relating to the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

The court stipulated three conditions for his release from custody.

He had to attend a new school and could not return to Oaklands, for his own safety. He was also not to visit the Cape Flats suburb of Hanover Park until the case was finalised, and was instructed not to interfere with prosecution witnesses.

The case was postponed until April 8 for further investigation. - Sapa
