The case of four teenagers accused of raping, kidnapping and assaulting a 31-year-old woman was postponed in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court, Eastern Cape police said on Tuesday.

Lieutenant-Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the youths aged between 17 and 18 appeared in court on Monday.

The four allegedly attacked the woman in Cembu Street, Kamesh on Thursday night.

“They asked money from her and when she gave them R6, they overpowered her and dragged her to the back of the house where they took turns to rape her, whilst assaulting her,” Naidu said.

They were arrested on Sunday.

The case will be heard on Wednesday for a bail application. – Sapa
