Johannesburg - Ten people have been arrested in Northdale, Pietermaritzburg, for possession of cosmetic products allegedly stolen from a truck, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Saturday.

They were allegedly seen loading the products from a warehouse into five vehicles, said Captain Thulani Zwane.

“Through investigation, it appeared that the goods, all cosmetics, were taken from the truck that was allegedly hijacked at Cato Ridge on Tuesday.”

Through further investigation, police discovered that the truck hijacking claim was false.

Police were searching for the driver of the truck who opened the false case.

The suspects, aged between 19 and 59, were due to appear in the Camperdown Magistrate's Court on Monday, facing charges including the possession of suspected stolen property.
