Johannesburg - Three men were arrested for allegedly robbing two security guards of their pistol and cellphones in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape police said on Wednesday.
Police officers, who were patrolling the area on Tuesday night, immediately arrested the three and recovered the guards' 9mm pistol and cellphones, Lieutenant Nkosikho Mzuku said.
“Police further disarmed the suspects and confiscated a fly-will revolver and a toy gun,” he said.
The three are facing charges of armed robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
They are expected to appear in the Mdantsane Magistrate's Court soon. - Sapa
