Tip-off leads police to R125k stolen property

Rustenburg - A 22-year-old man, arrested for possession of dagga and suspected stolen property, was expected to appear in the Molopo Magistrate's Court in Mmabatho on Thursday, North West police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Pelonomi Makau said the man was arrested on Tuesday, at Makgobistad village outside Mahikeng.

She said he was arrested after the police made a follow-up on a tip-off that he was in possession of dagga at his place.

A search was conducted and the police found dagga weighing 98g with estimated street value of R1500.

"A further search was conducted and it resulted in discovery of suspected stolen properties. They include a laptop bag, laptop, one Dell external drive, Acer projector, mobile theatre DVD player, electronic scale, computer monitor, two DVD players, an amplify echo, a mixer, 29 cellphones, seven memory sticks and a drill machine, all worth R125 000."
