Durban - Two men wanted for separate murders were arrested on Tuesday in Inanda, north of Durban, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Colonel Jay Naicker said a 22-year-old man was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and five rounds of ammunition.

“He was wanted for three cases of murder at Umhlali and Verulam.”

Another man, aged 50, was arrested with an unlicensed firearm believed to have been used to kill two people in the Umhlali area in December last year.

“Both firearms will be subjected to ballistic tests to establish if they were used in any other crimes in the country,” Naicker said.

The men are expected to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. - Sapa
