Two men have been arrested for robbing a woman of R60 000 in KwaMhlanga, Mpumalanga, police said on Friday.

The two were allegedly part of a gang of four men who followed the woman after she withdrew money from a bank on Thursday, said Constable Kenny Mahlangu.

Travelling in two cars, they forced the 32-year-old woman's vehicle off the road, took her money at gunpoint and fled in the direction of Ekangala.

“We managed to spot one of the robbers' cars at Rethabiseng after receiving a tip-off,” said Mahlangu.

“The vehicle was forced off the road after a short chase.”

But the police did not find the money; it was in the car driven by the two other robbers, who got away.

Police were still searching for them, Mahlangu said. – Sapa
